Management Accountant
Job description
The University established a Multi-Academy Trust in 2013, and in July 2017 Ofsted commented on the quality and effectiveness of the Finance service. With 12 academies and aspirations to be 30 strong, we believe it is essential our academies, located across Hampshire, including Portsmouth and West Sussex, continue to benefit from a high quality and professional
Finance provision as we grow.
We are recruiting for a Management Accountant to carry out financial processing and lead on the provision of management information for the central Trust. You will also provide advice and guidance to our academies to support their financial reporting and budget submissions. This will require different training methods, including on-site training and support, and for new schools joining the Trust, training on the Trust's financial software packages.
As part of a small team you will have a key role in supporting the Director of Financial and Commercial Services in the preparation of financial information for the Trust's senior management and servicing of meetings, including the Trust Board, undertaking a range of duties to ensure an effective operation of the Finance provision and the wider Trust aims.
With a pro-active approach to work, and demonstrable interpersonal skills you will build strong and effective working relationships with staff at all levels, including senior managers. Good management accounting experience is essential, and applicants should ideally be a qualified accountant with a recognised accounting body, or making significant progress towards completing your studies.
Informal enquiries about the recruitment process are welcomed by Helen Turner, Director of Financial and Commercial Services by telephone on 01243 793463 or email: h.turner@chi.ac.uk
