Associate Lecturer in Acting - Musical Theatre
Job description
This is a fixed term appointment from January to May 2018 paid on an hourly basis for up to 71 hours across Semester Two working Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings. These working days are fixed due to timetabling constraints.
The post holder contributes to the delivery of acting training specialising in the Musical Theatre style. This role will be primarily
based at our Bognor Regis Campus.
Your role will be primarily a teaching one, although from time to time the
department may ask you to undertake work as part of a performance assessment team. This position will be contributing to the University's undergraduate degree routes and work with mainly one to one tutoring.
The programmes adopt a student centric approach to learning and teaching and successful candidates will have experience of delivering high quality, interactive teaching or training activities. The post holder will be required to fit into complex timetable provisioning and some flexibility will be required to ensure regular contact sessions with the students you are teaching and intensive teaching at period of show preparation.
Candidates should have an appropriate teaching /or equivalent professional qualifications and experience, and have extensive recent relevant teaching / practical experience. It is anticipated that all staff engaged in vocal teaching will have an active performance and practitioner profile and will be engaged with the development of best practice in musical performance, as well as in current developments in pedagogy.
The University of Chichester welcomes applicants from BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) backgrounds as they are currently under represented at this level.
