Senior Technician in Engineering and Design
Job description
We are currently building a new and diverse team of creative and innovative people to establish our new Engineering and Design degrees in our new state- of-the-art Engineering and Digital Technology Park on the Bognor Regis Campus. With cutting-edge teaching laboratories containing brand new equipment, students will put their learning immediately into
practice, working with those studying engineering and creative disciplines and reproducing a real live workplace environment.
We are now seeking to recruit a Senior Technician in Engineering and Design to join the team at this exciting time. The post holder will work closely with Academic staff in the specification, procurement, set-up and commissioning of the engineering equipment within the laboratories of the Engineering and Design Department.
The successful candidate will also manage and plan the deployment of technical staff, resources and engineering equipment to ensure that the work of laboratories is supported effectively and efficiently.
Applicants must have previous experience in specification, procurement, setting up and commissioning of engineering equipment, together with substantial line management experience. You will be experienced and qualified in engineering science with extensive experience of working with and supporting academic staff and students either at Higher Education or Further Education level.
A good working knowledge of Health and Safety within engineering applications is essential, and you must have demonstrable communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to work effectively and build successful relationships at all levels.
